How To: Add Email, Text, & Callback Shortcuts for Missed or Ended Calls on Android

Living in a densely populated city means that I usually have a strong cell signal, but that isn't always the case when I start driving out to the boonies. When I do get that occasional dropped call, it makes more sense to shoot off a text or email instead of trekking around trying to get more bars.Plumillon Forge had the same idea in mind when it came to developing After Call Actions, an Android app that automatically opens a shortcut screen for quick actions after a call has ended. After Call Actions is completely free (works with Android 4.0.3 and above), although you can remove ads and add an auto-close feature with an in-app purchase of $1.33. Once you've installed it, After Call Actions (ACA) will appear whenever you hang up or decline a call. The shortcut screen comes with four options: call the contact back, send an SMS, send an email, and view the contact's information. To view or add a contact's information, you will need to tap the image in the middle of the screen. You also have the option to customize the look of ACA with four built-in themes. To change the theme, tap the Gear icon in the ACA app and select Theme. A widget is also included with the app that will allow you to see your last call and quickly access the same shortcuts you get after ending a call.Let us know what you think about After Call Actions in the comment section below, as well as on Facebook and Twitter.

Below are step-by-step instructions on how to text via email. SMS Vs. MMS. SMS, or Short Message Service is also commonly referred to as a "text message". With a SMS, you can send a message of up to 160 characters to another device. Longer messages will automatically be split up into multiple texts.
